What are the reception's opening hours?

 The reception is open during the mid/high season from 08:30 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 20:00.

In the low season, it is open from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 19:00, or as otherwise indicated at the reception.

Are dogs allowed on the campsite?

Yes, dogs are allowed on the campsite, provided they are kept on a leash.

Is it allowed to use a campfire or charcoal barbecue?

Barbecuing is allowed on the campsite; there are two designated barbecue areas.

Campfires are strictly prohibited due to fire hazards.

If you wish to barbecue at your own pitch, please ask at the kiosk first.

This is due to fire safety.

Check-in time

Camping pitches: Check-in is available from 1:00 PM.

Cabins and holiday homes: Check-in is available from 3:00 PM.

The reception is generally open until 8:00 PM during high season.

In case of a later arrival, please contact the campsite in advance.

Latest arrival time is 9:00 PM to respect evening and night-time quiet hours.

Camping pitches: Check-out before 12:00 PM.
Cabins on the campsite: Check-out before 11:00 AM.
Holiday homes: Check-out before 10:00 AM.

Can I buy fresh bread rolls?

Every morning from mid-June to the end of August, fresh rolls and cinnamon buns (kanelbullar) are available at the kiosk from 08:30 AM, while stocks last.

Can I drink the tap water?

Yes, the tap water at the campsite is safe to drink.
In Sweden, tap water is generally safe to drink, unless stated otherwise.

What can you do here?

Are there boats / canoes for hire?

Yes, you can rent rowing boats and canoes by the hour at Spilhammar campsite.

Can you rent bicycles at the campsite?

No, the campsite does not rent out bicycles.

Are there bicycle tours?

Yes, in Mariannelund you can go on guided bicycle tours.

Can I go gravel biking from the campsite?

The province of Småland, located in southern Sweden, is known as one of the best regions in the country for gravel biking, particularly the northeastern part (Mariannelund-Hultsfred-Vimmerby), which was voted the best gravel area by Happyride readers in 2024. The region offers a mix of wide, deep bogs, high lakes, and winding gravel roads.

Can you swim in the lake

Yes, you can certainly swim in the lakes surrounding Spilhammars Camping in Mariannelund. The campsite is located directly between two beautiful lakes that are ideal for water lovers.

Lake Åsjön:

This lake borders the campsite directly. Here you will find Spilhammarbadet, an official swimming area just a 50-meter walk from the camping grounds 

Lakeside Facilities:

There is a child-friendly sandy beach, a grassy area for sunbathing, and a swimming platform with a diving tower (levels of 1, 2, and 3 meters). For small children, there is a shallow section enclosed by a jetty. The area is equipped with changing cabins and toilets, and the water is known for being clear and clean.

Swimming with Dogs:

Dogs are not allowed on the official beach at Spilhammarbadet. However, there is a great alternative: dogs can swim on the other side of the lake, by the rowing boat jetty located directly at the campsite .

Water Quality:

The water in the lakes is known to be crystal clear and clean.

Your loyal four-legged friend is very welcome at Spilhammars Camping. Since dogs are not permitted on the official Spilhammarbadet beach, we offer a perfect alternative: dogs can enjoy a swim and cool off by the rowing boat jetty right at the campsite.
