Several walking routes

Walking from the campsite

Our campsite is a starting point for different walking routes.

Around the Skruven lake

In the forest behind the campsite are three walking routes. These are oriented around the Skruven lake. The 2.5 km (pink) route passes the Filmbyn museum and starts at the front of the campsite. The yellow route is 5 km and takes you on a trip through the forest. During the summertime, this beautiful walk is perfect for those who are looking for blueberries and other "forest fruit". The 10 km (green) route is slightly narrower and goes along the north side of Lake Åsjön. Due to the soft woodchip surface, the routes are also ideal for runners.

Runkesten

The Runkesten, freely translated "Wobblestone", is the largest moving stone in the world dating back to the Ice Age. According to myth, giant Kåra was awakened by church bells in Rumskulla. She then decided to throw a stone towards the village from Pelarne (about 10 km away). The stone broke: to this day, one half of the stone is still in Krogstorp near Pelare, the other half became the famous Runkesten.

The stone is around 1,5 km away from the campsite and can be reached on foot. Visiting the stone, however, is at your own risk ... The story tells us that giant Kåra will come back to punish the one who pushes the stone off its pedestal!

Viewpoint

From the campsite it is only a thirty-minute walk to Stubbaberg. Here you can enjoy a great view over Lake Åsjön, as well as the forests surrounding it. The route is suitable for children, but there is a risk that they will reach the top earlier than you!
